Wearing correct school uniform is an essential part of being a student at Breckland School. We have high expectations of our students and expect them to dress smartly. It is Breckland School School policy that all students wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours. We ask that all parents support the school uniform policy.
Questions should be raised with us before buying item(s) which may not conform to our expectations.
Our policy on school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:
- Promotes a sense of pride in the school
- Is practical, smart and affordable
- Identifies students of the school and engenders a sense of community and belonging
- Promotes equality amongst the students in terms of appearance
Role of Parents and Carers
We ask that all parents and carers support the school uniform policy. We believe that parents have the duty to send their children to school correctly dressed and ready for their schoolwork. One of the responsibilities of parents and carers is to ensure their child is wearing the correct uniform, and that it is clean and in good repair.

Ordering School Uniform
As from 1st July, the school no longer holds stock of uniform items, except ties, scarves and knitwear.
Uniform orders, including PE, kit should be ordered via Anglia Schoolwear. The school uniform page will not go live until late July 2026.
If you just wish to replace a tie or scarf or knitwear, you can place an order via this link.
Please note that if your child is due to join us in Year 7 in September 2026, you have been invited to a Uniform Event on Friday 10th July to purchase uniform direct from the supplier. The school will not be accepting any uniform orders for the New Intake.
PE Uniform
The requirements for the PE uniform are as follows:
Compulsory:
- School branded black PE polo shirt purchased from https://www.yourschoolwear.co.uk/breckland-school-324-c.asp
- Black shorts – loose fitting (not lycra) – either unbranded or school branded (available via this link)
- Trainers for indoors and outdoors
- Sports socks
- Football boots & shin pads
Optional:
- A school branded quarter zip top for colder weather (available via this link)
- Unbranded black leggings or tracksuit bottoms
- Unbranded black skins for colder weather
- Unbranded plain black top for colder weather (no hoods or coats)
Please note that high tops, hoodies (or any other over layers) or canvas pumps will not be acceptable.
Appropriate sports kit also includes the removal of jewellery and the tying back of long hair. Students should have bare feet for gym and dance unless they are wearing dance shoes for dance.
All students are expected to change into PE kit even if they are not able to participate. A note will be required by non-participants.
Students who do not meet our PE uniform expectations will need to rectify this before the lesson starts. This can be completed by borrowing/removing the item. Students who do not correct their uniform to meet expectations will be removed from the lesson with normal behaviour sanctions applied.
